A police official was wounded in an attack by a wave of traders at Chaugachha Bazar in Jessore as he tried to pick up businessman Rabon Kumar, owner of Super Electric and Varieties after keeping some Yaba pills inside the business outlet by a source on Wednesday noon.
The businessmen observed sudden strike soon after the incident, eyewitnesses said.
The wounded police official is identified as assistant sub inspector Sirajul Islam of Chaugachha police station.
Confirming the information, Moshiur Rahman, officer in-charge, Chaugachha police station told that investigation was going on.
The OC later informed that two policemen were closed to Jessore police line in this connection.
Business and eyewitnesses told that a wave of traders attack police official Sirajul Islam of Chaugachha police station while he tried to make businessman Rabon Kumar, owner of Super Electric and Varieties after rushing at the business outlet hearing noses from the shop as the policeman tried to pick up the businessman after making a trap of Yaba at noon. They also called for no -stop strike protesting at the act of the police officer. The strike was called off in the evening after two policemen were withdrawn from the police station, police and locals said.
