Businessman stabbed to death by snatchers in Bhairab

A businessman was stabbed to death by snatchers at Sued Nazrul Islam Bridge of Bhairab Port town of Kishoreganj on Friday midnight.
The deceased was identified as Faruk Khan (35), son of Salam Khan of Pathan Bari in Bhairab.
Family members and locals of the deceased Farooq Khan said that Farooq used to do business in Bhairab market. On Friday night, he went to Ashuganj with his cousin Arif (15) for personal work. They were walking home as the traffic was stopped due to the ongoing lockdown. At around 9.15 pm, a group of snatchers stopped them at the Bhairab end of Syed Nazrul Islam Bridge. At that time, they snatched two mobile phones from Arif and went to Farooq. When the robbers saw a car carrying chickens coming, they stabbed Farooq in the chest, hands and neck and fled. The locals rescued him in critical condition and brought him to Bhairab Upazila Health Complex. He died at around 11 pm.
Arif said there were four or five kidnappers. They had masks on their faces. The kidnappers stabbed his cousin and fled.
Jinan Mollah was one of the people who brought Farooq to the hospital. He said in the first light, ‘We saw a man lying on the side of the road in a bloody state. Then bring the man (Faruk Khan) to the hospital. ‘The duty doctors declared him dead.
Bhairab police officer in charge (OC) said. Shahin confirmed the incident and said that the incident is being investigated.
The body was sent to Kishoreganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
