Muggers looted Tk6 lakh from a businessman at Gopatila area in Tilagar of the city on Thursday.
Locals said Abu Taher, a businessman and a resident of Khadimpara Nipobon Residential, was going to Jail Road area by a motorcycle in the afternoon after withdrawing Tk6lakh from Islampur branch of One Bank along with his friend.
When they reached Gopatila area, a gang of miscreants on two motorcycles intercepted them and snatched the bag containing the money at gunpoint.
