Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained a businessman from the city’s Motijheel area on Tuesday for allegedly distributing money among people for purchasing vote.
The detainee is identified as Ali Haider, managing director of an export-import company, according to a RAB SMS.
The elite force team also recovered Tk eight crore cash and a check of Tk 10 crore from his possession.
The details about the arrest will be briefed later in the day, it said.
