Chittagong Bureau :
A court in Chittagong convicted an importer Kamaluddin with two years imprisonment in a case that filed by the Pubali Bank for cheque forgery .
Additional Session Judge of Chittagong Md. Zakir Hossain announced this judgment on Sunday last.
The judge at the same time imposed penalty of Tk.78.85 cr for misappropriation of money through fake cheque of Pubali Bank. For this fake forgery, Pubali Bank lodged two suits before the Chittagong Metropolitan Session Judge.
Kamaluddin is a leading importer of essential commodities of Khatungong business hub in Chittagong and the owner of Tabasum Enterprises. Kamaluddin is now under jail custody.
Counsel of the plaintiff Advocate Md. Naim Bhuyia told that Manager of Chaktai Branch of Pubali Bank Ratan Kumar Shil lodged these suits as plaintiff.
One case for Tk.58.46 cr and another one for Tk.18.40 cr were filed before the court on November 14, 2013 and December 2, 2013 respectively.
