Miscreants killed a local trader named Ahsan, 42, at Sadipur under Benapole municipality of Jashore district on Monday night.
Ismail Khan, brother of the deceased Ahsan, told the media that one Buno Akter, a resident of the village, and his friends took cigarettes from a shop at night but didn’t pay.
Ahsan went there for the settlement of the conflict.
But at one stage, Buno and his friends beat Ahsan mercilessly.
Hearing the incident, family members rescued Ahsan from the spot in a critical condition.
He succumbed to his injuries when he was being taken to a hospital,
Ismail said further. The local people said , they are helpless to the oppressive activities of Buno Akter and his accomplices. The people said : We want justice.
However, the body was sent to Jashore Medical College Hospital for an autopsy, Benapole Port Police Station Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Shahin told the media.
