The leaders of Bangladesh Cable TV Audience Forum said domestic channel is losing its business due to breach of cable television network (Conduct and Licensing) rules-2006 by the foreign channels, says in a statement.
Erfanul Hoque Nahid, President and Shahadat Hossain Munna, General Secretary of the forum said on Sunday that domestic channel is losing its popularity for foreign channels. Bangladeshi cable operators should have to come under licensing rules immediately.
The release also said that cable operators operated unapproved foreign channel illegally. As a result, domestic channels loses its popularity along with the government also loses revenue from foreign channel. The foreign channels have to come under Bangladeshi rules.
Bangladesh is losing Tk hundreds of thousands by foreign pay channel. It should be stopped immediately for our own interest, they added.
