A popular trade body of the port city- Khatungonj Trade and Industries Association handed over a memorandum consist of 10- point demands to the CCC mayor AJM Nasiruddin on Monday at latters office chamber including sustaining the reputations of the countries traditional wholesale market of essential commodities (Chaktai, Khatungong) .
The memo also demanded modernization of the existing traditional kitchen market – Boxirhat Bazar. General secretary of the Assocn Syed Sagir Ahmed handed over the memo to Mayor in presence of councilor Haji Nurul Hoque, councilor Giasuddin, former councilor Md.Jamal Hossain. City Mayor gave patient hearing to their demands and assured them to implement their legitimate demand in phases. City Mayor instantly directed the concerned officials to complete the ongoing city development works on priority basis and to formulate architectural plans of the proposed Boxirhat multistoried mar ket.
14 teachers conferred with Honourary Award : Bangladesh Teachers Association, Chittagong Regional Unit in their triennial conference felicitated 14 best teachers of the region with Honourary Award, Memento and bouquet for their contribution in teaching profession.
The awarded teachers included AM Mahmudul Hoque, Asit Kumar Lala, Pranta Kumar, Sunil Chakraborty, Md. Khorshed, Badal Sikder, Mahmudur Rahman, Harun Rashid, Bazlul Karim, Showkat Ali, Faridul Alam, Shanti Ranjan, Su. Kendu Bikash and Bidhubushan Das.
City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin graced the occasion as chief guest which held at Muslim Institute Hall in city on Monday. In the conference a new regional committee for next 3 years term declared with Syed Lakitullah and Anchal Chowdhury as President and secretary respectively.
