Miscreants torched a bus in the city’s Motijheel area on Sunday afternoon. Witnesses said the bus of ‘Hanif Paribahan’ was set on fire near Notre Dame College at around 3pm.
However, locals doused the flame before fire-fighters rushed in on information. A senior police official, wishing anonymity, said the bus was set alight after the court orders sending Swechchhasebak Dal president Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel to jail in 11 cases. Two Dhaka courts on Sunday sent Sohel to jail rejecting his bail petitions in the 11 cases.
