Bus Owners Association here on Wednesday went on an indefinite transport strike in the district protesting the arrest of three staff of ‘Shohag Paribahan’.
The decision to enforce the strike came from a meeting of the transport owners.
All buses and vehicles on the Satkhira-Dhaka route have remained suspended due to the strike.
Earlier on Tuesday a gang of robbers stormed a bus of ‘Shohag Paribahan’ and looted cash, ornaments and other valuables from the passengers.
Later, police arrested three the staff of the bus operator, including the driver and his helper, in connection with the incident.
