Bus owners and workers went on an indefinite strike in three southern districts-Patuakhali, Barguna and Barisal- demanding an end to plying of three wheelers on highways and withdrawal of fake cases against transport workers.
The strike disrupted communication between Dhaka and the three districts.
Md Nazrul Islam, executive president of Patuakhali, Barguna, Barisal Bus-minibus Owners Somonnoy Parishad, called the strike.
Passengers, especially tourists bound to Kuakata beach, had to face suffering due to the strike which started from 6am.
