A bus helper was sent to jail custody through court on Thursday on charge of raping an old woman here in the city.

A bus helper was sent to jail custody through court on Thursday on charge of raping an old woman here in the city.

route bus, raped the 50-year-old woman. Md Anwarul Haque, OC of Kotwali Model Police Station, informed that the old woman used to work as a public toilet cleaner at Shashongachha area in the city and reside in a room by the side of the toilet. On Saturday night, bus helper Hasan on the plea of using the toilet, entered the old woman’s house and raped her.
Later, she fell sick and the locals after rescuing her admitted her to Cumilla Medical College Hospital.
Afterwards on Wednesday evening, the old woman lodged a case with the police station. He was arrested on the same night. Hassan, however confessed his guilt during the preliminary police investigation.
