A bus helper was killed in a road accident in Khillmoghal area under Rangunia upazila of the district on Thursday afternoon. The deceased was identified as Anjon Chowdhury,45, son of late Rajkumar Chowdhury, hailed from Raozan upazila of the district. Police said the accident occurred when a Chittagong-bound speedy passenger bus fell into a roadside pond as driver of the vehicle lost control over its steering. Locals and police brought Anjon to Rangunia Health Complex where the attending doctors declared him dead. Police seized the bus but the driver escaped.
