Law enforcers on Friday night arrested a bus helper on the charge of ramming a female government official, who lost her leg in a tragic accident in the city.
The accused bus helper identified as Bachchu Miah was arrested from Mymensingh’s Gouripur Upazila on Friday night.
Bashir Ahmed, SP (Dhaka Metro) of the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) told the media that Bachchu was brought to court on Saturday.
Earlier, on September 1, police arrested bus driver
Morshed in connection with the incident from the city’s Kazipara.
Krishna Roy, 52, Assistant Manager of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), lost her leg when the driver of a passenger bus lost control on the steering and climbed onto a footpath in the capital’s Banglamotor area on August 27.
After the incident, victim’s husband Radhe Sham Chowdhury filed a case accusing the driver, staff and owner of the bus with Hatirjheel Police Station.
