Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive arrested a bus driver and his helper along with 2401 Yaba tablets from Rupnagar area in the capital on Friday morning.
The arrestees are driver Md Ziaur, 27, son of Md Shahar Ali, hailing from Rangpur district and helper Md Aminul Islam Milon, 26, son of Md Abdul Awal of Sirajganj district. They used to live in Savar.
Tipped off, a team of police conducted a drive in a ‘Shyamoli Paribahan Bus’ in front of Baitul Nur Mosque under Rupnagar thana around 8:50am, said a RAB press release.Sensing the presence of the elite force members, the driver and helper tried to flee the scene. However, the team arrested the duo. The team recovered the Yaba tablets from the bus and seized the vehicle.
