Police in a drive have arrested the bus driver in connection with the killing of the female medical student in a road crash at Nayabazar in the old part of Dhaka.
Reaz Bagha, 28, driver of a bus owned by ‘Tanjil Paribahan’ was arrested from the city’s Sutrapur on
Sunday night, said Nur-e-Alam, Officer-in-Charge of Bangshal Police Station.
The law enforcers also arrested the helper, Milon and seized the bus from the same area on the day, the police official said.
Sadia Hasan Khan, 23, who was a final year student of National Medical College, was killed and her mother was injured when the bus rammed a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on Saturday morning.
Following the incident, the students of Dhaka National Medical College on Sunday issued another 24-hour ultimatum to the authorities concerned to arrest the bus driver whose reckless driving killed their fellow Sadia Hasan.
