Staff Reporter :A bus conductor who suffered burn injuries nine days ago died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Sunday. DMCH Police Outpost’s Inspector Muzammel Haque said the doctors of the burns unit declared Nur Alam, 40, dead at 1:00pm on Sunday. The deceased hailed from Sonargaon upazila under Narayanganj district.Burn Unit’s Resident Surgeon Partho Shankar Pal said that the victims of Jatrabari petrol bomb attack had 12 to 48 per cent of their bodies burnt. Alam received 48 per cent burn injuries.On January 23, a petrol bomb was hurled at a bus by the picketers in the city’s Jatrabari area, injuring more than 30 people. They are undergoing treatment at the DMCH.Police filed a case against 69 people following the Jatrabari arson incident, in which BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia has also been charged as the ‘instigator’ of violence.At her behest, the troublemakers have unleashed the violence in Jatrabari, the case documents said.
