UNB, Chittagong :Six people were killed in a collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Highway in Satkania upazila on Saturday evening.The deceased were identified as M Sayed, 35, an auto rickshaw driver, and M Shoaib, 22, hailing from Janar Para in Satkania upazila;Shahriar Shuvo, 16, and Amulla Das, 55, hailing from Shikdar Para in Lohagora upazila; Jasim Uddin, 28, hailing from Eid Ghah area in Cox’ s Bazar Sadar and Samsul Alam, 80, hailing from Dani Chambal village in Bashkhali upazila.Officer-in-charge of Satkania Police Station Khaled Hossain said the fatal accident took place around 6pm when a Chittagong-bound bus of ‘S Alam Paribahan’ collided head on with an auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction at Pathani Pool on the highway, leaving five auto-rickshaw passengers dead on the spot and another injured.The injured was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.Police seized the bus but its driver managed to flee the scene, the OC added.
