Burn victim dies at DMCH

Staff Reporter :A burn injured patient out of three succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) on Thursday afternoon. They were severely burnt as a gang of miscreants set their room afire at Narinda intersection in the capital’s Wari area around 3:30am.The deceased has been identified as Suman, 40. The other two injured men are Shakil, 35, and Shahidul Islam, 27, police said.Jehad Hossain, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Wari Police Station, said, “Three persons were burnt at a mess on the first floor of a building at Narinda intersection. It was locked from the outside and set on fire.”Hearing the scream, neighbours rushed in and rescued them breaking the door. The injured persons were admitted to the DMCH early in the morning. Miscreants set the room afire after putting the door locked around, the OC said.DMCH burn unit’s resident surgeon Dr Partha Shankar Paul said that Shahidul and Sumon suffered 85 percent burns while Shakil suffered 35 percent.
