Burglars have reportedly taken away around Tk 72 lakh from the Khilgaon Chowdhurypara office of Asma Ltd, a distributor of multi-national company Unilever, in the city.
Officer-in-charge of Rampura Police Station Proloy Kumar Saha told UNB that employees of Asma Ltd left its office on the 3rd floor of 425/B Khilgaon Chowdhurypara around 11:30 pm on Saturday keeping around Tk 72 lakh in a locker.
When the employees came to the office on
Sunday morning, they found its main entrance locked from inside. They entered the office breaking open the lock only to find the locker broken and the money missing, he said quoting the employees.
Burglars might have looted the money sometime between 11:30 pm and 5 am, the OC said, adding that company manager SK Farid Ahmed filed a case in connection with the incident.
