‘Dhopa Chai’ a student team of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) won the Championship Award in Business Plan Competition of Global Entrepreneurship Week-2018. The prize giving ceremony of the event was held on Friday at 71 Milonayoton of Daffodil International University (DIU). Besides, ‘Team Bunon’, student team of DIU became 1st Runner up and ‘Team Hardly Knows’, student team of Jahangirnagar University became 2nd Runner up.
Dr Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman, Board of Trustees, DIU was distributed prize among the winners as the chief guest while Munir Hasan, General Secretary, Bangladesh Open Source Network was present at the program as special guest. Presided over by Prof Dr Yousuf M Islam, the program was also addressed by Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil Family, Shibli Shahriar, Head, Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Abu Taher Khan, Director, Career Development Center (CDC).
Dr Md. Sabur Khan said, in present situation of Bangladesh we have no alternate without making entrepreneur. Because, the number of educated unemployed graduate is increasing alarmingly, but employment opportunity is limited. To overcome the situation, Daffodil International University has taken various initiatives to spread entrepreneurship mentality among the young graduates.
It may be mentioned that celebration of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2018 was open 12 November 2018 at DIU. Mustafizur Rahman, Project Director, A2i project of the Government inaugurated that weeklong program as chief guest.
