Bumper production of BARI musur expected in Gopalganj

Farmers of Jalalabad union Sadar Upazila in the district are expecting a bumper production of BARI musur-6 this year.
Bangladesh Agriculture Research Institute (BARI) to invested this high productive BARI musur -6 which marked a sharp rise over last three years among the farmers in this region.
Rabi Biswas (60) a farmer of village Char Echhakhali under Jalalabad Union of Sadar Upazila in Gopalgnj told The New Nation he cultivated on two local bighas (104 decimal) of land origin BARI musur-6 this season where expend taka 10,500. But this origin is more profitable and I hope I will got 6 mounds of musur from my produce which market price is taka about 21,000.
Less pest attack, small investment a farmer can achieve a big monitorial benefit from this BARI must-6 farming, Rabi said during visit his field.
Santosh Biswas, Sub-Assistant Agriculture Officer of Echhakhali block under Jalalabad union of Sadar Upazila said, cultivation of BARI musur-6 for farmers in this region is more bright because soil & weather condition in this area is favourable and farmers in this region is more labourer. As a result they excepting bumper production from this crop every year, Santosh added.
Some farmers Jalalabad said, BARI musur-6 is more profitable crop for farmers in this region because there is no needed more chemical fertilizers & pesticides but return is big, they added.
According to Department of Agriculture Extension Department (DAE), Gopalganj officials said, a total of 3,500 hectors of land have been brought under BARI musur-6 cultivation and production target 4,900 metric tonnes (MT) of them 1,208 hectors of land have been brought under Sadar Upazila but 80 hectors in Jalalabad union, sources said.
Samir Kumar Gowshami, Deputy Director (DD), Agriculture, Gopalganj told The New Nation BARI musur-6 is more profitable comparatively any other crops and less expenses of cost and production is excess for the farmers in this region expected BARI musur-6.
