Police recovered the bullet-hit body of a young man from Chougaccha-Jashore road at Koyarpara in Chougaccha upazila early Friday.
The deceased was identified as Ratan, 30, son of Abu Bakkar of Digholsingha village in Chougaccha upazila.
Khandaker Shamim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Chougaccha Police Station, said being informed that two groups of ‘criminals’ were exchanging bullets, a team of police went to the spot around 2:30 am and found Ratan’s body lying

on the road. Police also recovered one shutter gun, two bullets, 200 pieces of Yaba tablets from the spot. Ratan was also wanted in several cases including that of police assault case. Ratan’s family claimed that Ratan went out of his home after receiving a phone call and since then he remained missing.
