A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader was admitted in Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) with bullet injuries on Tuesday night.
The victim was identified as Enamul Haq Manik, 27, General Secretary of Bakalia Ward BCL.
Pranab Chowdhury, Officer-in-Charge of Bakalia Police Station confirmed the news.
Quoting Manik’s friend, the OC said a person indentified as Ramzan, who was a local goon, shot the victim at around 11:30 pm.
However city unit BCL GS Nurul Azim Rony claimed, “Manik was vocal against the local anti-social activists and extra fees taken in schools. This was a planned attack.”
