Speakers at a function have laid emphasis on building up the country in line with the Liberation War spirit with a view to strengthening communal harmony in the country.
To get the desired goal, the speakers also gave importance on healthy cultural practice among the young generation as the extreme fundamentalist and militant groups do not get chance to destroy the communal co-existence.
They made the above statements while speaking at a function organized by Bangladesh Nari Pragati Sangha [BNPS] at CIRDAP auditorium in the city on Wednesday.
The speakers have also urged to expand the spirit of Liberation War among the young generation while the incidents of communal violence are taking place in different parts of the country.
Executive Director of BNPS and freedom fighter Rokeya Kabir presided over the inaugural session of the meeting where, among others, Mount Everest winner MA Muhith, Shahnaj Sumi and journalist Nikhil Bhadra also spoke.
Rokeya Kabir in her speech said: “The spirit of the Liberation War was – religion is personal matter but the state is for all. But the country is still witnessing the incidents of communal clashes.”
“To overcome such obnoxious situation, the new generation will have to be well-educated with modern philosophy.
