The BUILD and UNDP Bangladesh on Thursday signed a pact at UNDP office in the city to coordinate their approaches towards sustainable green growth and environment friendly business by facilitating public private dialogue (PPD).
UNDP Bangladesh Country Director Pauline Tamesis and BUILD Chairman Asif Ibrahim signed the agreement on behalf their respective organisations.
The two bodies will also establish institutional mechanisms and form a joint working committee that will meet at a regular interval to support green growth and identify regulatory issues hindering the sustainability of green growth.
They will cooperate on renewable energy and research into the effects of climate change on Bangladesh.
They also agreed to conduct advocacy for reform proposals through PSDPCC for environment-friendly business, addressing regulatory issues hindering the growth of SMEs as per project targets agreed upon by the two parties.
