Build traffic-jam free modern Rangpur city: Jhantu

Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) and valiant freedom fighter Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu yesterday reiterated his pledge for building a traffic-jam free, eco-friendly and beautiful city ensuring all civic services.
He put emphasis on timely implementation of the construction works of roads, culverts, offices, institutions, recreation places and sewerage, water and electricity supply systems, industries as per the master plan in a long-term manner. He said this while launching road carpeting work at a ceremony arranged at Kellabond Katcharipara under Wad No-2 in the city by cutting ribbon as the chief guest.
The City Mayor launched the road carpeting work under the phase-wise construction packages of 142 separate roads, drains, culverts, drainage systems and other works under 142 groups at Taka 33 crore from own resources of the city corporation.
City Councilor of Ward No-2 Golam Sarwar Mirja presided over the ceremony participated by a large number of local people from all walks in the society.
Valiant freedom fighter Abdul Gafur, Executive Engineer of RCC Azam Ali, social workers Dr Dhiren Chandra Sarker, Tayeb Ali, Abdul Gani, Manik Mian, Abu Bakar, Mansur Ali, Dulal Mian, Binod Chandra, Majibar Rahman, Vice-president of District Shop Owners’ Association Ali Hossain Mollah and Joint Secretary of City Shop Owners’ Association Moazzem Hossain Mithu attended the ceremony.
While addressing the ceremony, the RCC Mayor said all kinds of the infrastructural uplift works are being implemented with a view to building an eco-friendly, well- planned, modern, traffic- jam free and beautiful Rangpur city.
