Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has bagged the first prize of Battle of Minds-2017. Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University became the first runner up while Islamic University of Technology (IUT) acquired the second runner up award.
Battle of Minds is a youth skills development platform which bridges the gap between academic and corporate experience and this platform is dedicated for the grooming and development of the human resources of Bangladesh.
Among others distinguished personalities, Mahbubul Alam Hanif, MP, Joint Secretary, Bangladesh Awami League was the chief guest of the inaugural session and Nasrul Hamid, MP, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources was present as the chief guest of the prize giving ceremony in the event held on Wednesday (6 December).
Shehzad Munim, Managing Director, BATB said, “Battle of Minds is a platform that enables young graduates to widen their horizon in learning and get into the professional life with confidence. With a legacy of 14 years, Battle of Minds adheres to give the young graduates all the opportunities, exposure and learning to lead the nation towards prosperity.”
BATB has been hosting this event from 2004 and on its 14th edition this year; a total number of more than 2,300 students from 40 different universities across the country took part in the competition through online applications. Furthermore, through a four-step rigorous competition, 24 best candidates from North South University (NSU), Institute of Business Administration (IBA), Islamic University of Technology (IUT), Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) and Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) were selected as finalists for the gala event.
