BUET team visits GPH Plant at Kumira

A 25 members delegation of BUET has visited the GPH plant at Kumira in Chittagong recently and held a view exchange meeting. The delegation discussed about the project and mentioning the Quantum Ark Furnace Method of GPH the delegation also opined, “this will be the pride and challenging project of the country.”
Muhammed Jahangir Alam ,Managing Director of GPH Ispat said, “we have invited the BUET delegation at our site for their valuable advice and recommendations. We are dreaming to set up such type of plant to encourage the meritorious for not leaving the country and creating eagerness for staying here. Besides, we believe that our project will be attractive and example to foreigners and our countrymen. We will continue the exchange of views with the BUET experts to enrich our plant.”
Almas Shimul, Additional MD of GPH Ispat said in the meeting, “the teachers of BUET plays a national role in the respective areas. We are trying to set up the project most modernly by a good team work.”
Head of Chemical Engineering Dept. Professor Ijaj Hossain, Professor Ali Ahamed Shawgat Chowdhury, Head of Electrical Engineering Dept. Professor Dr Abdul Hasib Chowdhury, Professor of Civil Engineering Dept. Dr Rakib Ahasan,, Professor Dr Probhat Kumar Shaha, Professor of Material and Metallurgica Dept. Dr Ahamed Sharif, Professor Dr Fahmida Gulshan, Professor of Institute of Appropriate Technology Dr Iftekhar Ahamed Khan addressed the view exchange meeting among others. The expert team also advised the GPH authority to ensure the maintenance, safety, environment, quality power supply, air separation plant monitoring etc. They also discussed Engineer Angel Butt Technology of Austria’s Primetals.
