The students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) on Friday visited Walton Industrial Park at Chandra in Gazipur. A total of 53 students of BUET’s Materials and Metallurgical Engineering (MME) department, led by Associate Professor Dr. Kazi Md. Shorowordi and lecturers Sikder Ashikuzzaman Ayon and Sushmita Majumder, visited the factory of country’s electronics giant as part of their academic activities, said a press release.
The teachers and students of BUET who visited the Walton factory believe that the tour will play a very important role for the students to gain practical experience in the context of formal knowledge acquired from the university.
S.M. Mahbubul Alam, Managing Director to Walton Group, welcomed the students and teachers upon their arrival at the Industrial Park. He gave the students conceptual understanding about the various production and machine operating systems of the factory, including the ongoing production process at Walton Compressor Unit, which uses the world’s latest technology.
Mentioning the students, S.M. Mahbubul Alam said: “Wherever you work in home or abroad, you should give the country first priority.
