BUET students have agreed to return to all class examinations on three conditions. The protesting students said it at a press conference held at the BUET Central Shaheed Minar on Thursday afternoon.
Umaer Jubayer, a student of the University, announced it on Thursday afternoon.
The conditions are permanent expulsion of the charge sheeted accused, taking of punitive actions against the accused as
per reports on ragging and issueance of guidelines as regards to those who do politics despite ban.
The students have been protesting for over a month, demanding justice for Abrar Fahad Abrar, who was beaten to death inside the university’s dormitory.
Earlier on Wednesday, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) charged 25 BUET students for Abrar murder.
Among the accused, 11 were directly involved with beating Abrar in several phases to death. The other 14 were indirectly connected to in the incident.
It is noted that Abrar, 22, was found dead on a staircase of BUET’s Sher-e-Bangla Hall in the early hours of October 7, after he was taken to the dormitory’s Room No 2011 around 8pm on October 6 and beaten mercilessly by Chhatra League men late into the night.
