A fire broke out at a female residential hall on the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) campus in the capital on Sunday morning.
The fire broke out around 10:30am. Informed, two fire fighting units from Plassey fire station rushed to the spot.
The university authorities with the help of locals brought the fire under control before the fire service units reached the spot, said fire service sources.
The reason behind the fire could not be ascertained immediately.
