Treasury bench members in the House today continued appreciating the proposed budget for fiscal year 2014-15 terming it a people-centric and implementable proposal, which would ensure welfare of the people and development of the country.
Taking part in the general discussion for the proposed budget for fiscal year 2014-15, they said the proposed budget for fiscal year 2014-15 is investment and business friendly and successful implementation of the budget would take the country a step ahead in attaining a middle income country status by 2021.
They said finance minister has attached priority to different important sectors, including agriculture, education, health, power-energy, rural development, poverty alleviation and human resources development to give the country’s economy a firm footing for maintaining the pace of growth in the future.
Highlighting various problems of their respective constituencies, the lawmakers urged the finance minister to take steps for development of infrastructures including construction of new roads and educational institutions and repairing the old ones and bring their localities under electricity and gas supply network.
Treasury bench members whip Shahiduzzaman Sarker, Abdus Shahid, Saimum Sarwar Kamal, Dr Md Enamur Rahman, AKM Shahjahan Kamal, Mehjabin Khaled, Abdus Shahid, independent MP Tahjib Alam Siddique and Jatiya Party lawmakers Md Ilias took part in the discussion.
The MPs highlighted the development activities that were implemented in their respective constituencies over the last five years of the grand alliance government and hoped that the people would continue their support to the government for implementation of the proposed budget.
