The Buddhist community of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) observed their greatest religious festival Buddha Purnima at different temples with festivity and religious fervor today.
Celebrating the birth anniversary of Lord Gautam Buddha, different relious programmes were taken from Buddist temple and Parbotta Vikku Shangha.
The day long programme included hoisting of Buddhist flags atop buddist temple, distribution of food among monks, rally, Buddha puja, rendering of hymns, Sangadan, donating Buddha statues and delivering religious speech. A colourful rally in connection with the holly Buddha Purnima was brought out at Rangamati town arranged by Parbotta Bhikku Shango, Rangamati.
In the morning the rally started from Rangamati College gate area and ended at Rangamati Moitree Bihar Buddist temple.
Chairman of Rangamati Sadar Upazila Parishad Arun Kanti Chakma led the rally while hundred of Buddist man and women including Buddha Vikku participated in the rally.
