Chairman of the Trustee Board of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) Prof Dr Shafique Ahmed Siddique and its Vice Chancellor Prof Md Abu Saleh paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Chairman of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) Prof Abdul Mannan at the latter’s office on Monday last.
The BUBT high ups greeted UGC Chairman with flower bouquet and wished that his long experience in both public and private universities will be very effective for solving various problems in university operations. They apprised the UGC Chairman about education systems, quality and other aspects of BUBT and invited him to pay a visit to the university campus.
Prof Abdul Mannan discussed about different activities of UGC and private universities in detail. In this connection, he opined that half of the duties of UGC would be minimized if private universities act properly. They talked on various issues and exchanged views and experiences and agreed that the quality of the private universities should not be generalized.
