A Certificate Giving Ceremony on “Intensive Training Program on Applied Research Methodology” took place at the permanent campus of Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) at Rupnagar recently.
Prof Dr Dil Afroza Begum, Member of University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC) graced the occasion as the chief guest while Prof Dr Shafique Ahmed Siddique, Chairman of BUBT Trust attended as the special guest. Prof Md. Abu Saleh, the Vice Chancellor of BUBT presided over the ceremony.
Famous Educationist and Research Director of BUBT Prof Santi Narayan Ghosh delivered introductory speech as the Coordinator of the training program. He discussed in detail about how 24 teachers of this university were divided into 5 groups and how they were trained both theoretically and practically. Prof Dr Shafique Ahmed Siddique criticized the research reports constructively and expressed his satisfaction about the quality of the research. He revealed that the university already granted Taka one Crore per annum for research purpose.
Prof Dr Dil Afroza Begum opined that allocation in the budget for research in private sector is comparatively easier than Govt. sector. So, budget for research in private sector should be increased. She wished that private universities will go ahead like that of private banking sector progressed with the help of research work. Prof. Md. Abu Saleh said that all students are required to do research work as a part of their course work at BUBT. As a trainer of the students, teachers are required to have good knowledge about research work. So the trainers should be trained first. He assured that all the research reports presented in this occasion will be published as articles in the university journal.
Thereafter, Certificates were distributed among the participants of the training program and the best group was awarded with a prize. Finally, Prof Dr A. K Shamsuddoha, Dean, Faculty of Business delivered the closing speech and emphasized the importance of research for quality education.
Assistant Professor of Marketing Monirul Hasan Masum was dedicated for overall arrangement of the ceremony as the Deputy Coordinator of the training program. Trustee Board Members, Deans of the Faculties and Officials of BUBT were also present on the occasion.
