The telecast of Bangladesh Television, Chattogram Station will be extended to 9 hours daily from the existing 6 hours from April 14 ahead of the Pahela Baishakh of Bangla New Year.
In this connection an inaugural function will be held on April 13 next at Chattogram BTV Bhavan at 10.30am.
The Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud MP is expected to inaugurate the programme.
Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, Whip Shamsul Huq Chowdhury, Chattogram City Corporaton Mayor AJM Nasiruddin, Deputy Minister for Education Barrister Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury will attend the function.
With the directive of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina the telecast has been extended to 9 hours.
The then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the BTV Chattogram Station on 19 December in 1996.
The four hours programme began on 28 September in 2016 and 6 hours on December 31 of the same year.
