Chattogram Bureau :
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said state-run BTV’s Chattogram centre would launch a 12-hour independent transmission service as he joined an interaction with journalists in the port city. “Currently the centre runs a 6-hour (independent) transmission service .
We decided to run the service for 12 hours,” said Hasan in his maiden tour to the port city after his election to parliament from a Chattogram Constituency.
The centre runs the six-hour service through satellite mainly to highlight the culture and tradition of greater Chattogram.
Mahmud said his ministry was now vigorously engaged in getting the Ninth Wage Board for newspaper and news agency journalists and employees notified in gazette within the deadline while he would take initiatives for its proper implementation once it was announced.
He assured newsmen of looking into their concerns particularly over the Digital Security Act.
