BTRC signs deal for QoS measuring equipment

Aiming to ensure quality of service (QoS) for mobile telecommunication, the telecom regulator on Thursday struck an agreement with Finish firm Anite Finland Limited (AFL) to collect QoS measuring equipment.
Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Director General (Engineering and Operation) Brig General Iqbal Ahmed and Siddharth Das, Director (Sale and Business Development, SAARC) of AFL put pen on the agreement paper at BTRC.
State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim, BTRC Chairman Dr Shahjahan Mahmood, Vice Chairman Ahsan Habib Khan and other officials were present in the signing ceremony, said a BTRC press release.
Under the agreement, AFL will supply installation and commissioning of a backpack/hand held/portable and fixed based QoS measurement tools with scanner for voices, Data and video service of 2G, 3G, 4G, LTE, CDMA and WiMAX.
Using these tools, the telecom regulator would be able to measure the call-drop, received-call, MOS, call set up time, call success rates and other parameter of QoS.
