BTCCI urges Thai businesses to enhance ties with BD

Bangladesh Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTCCI) has urged the Thai entrepreneurs to bolster bilateral ties between Bangladesh and Thailand by investing more in Bangladesh.
The BTCCI made the call at a business meeting held in the city on Sunday with the 20-members Thai business delegation, said a media release on Monday.
BTCCI president Sajjatuz Jumma said Bangladesh and Thailand are tested friends and the ethnic historical and cultural ties of both the countries went back years ago.
Sajjauz Jumma stressed reducing the trade gap between the two countries by increasing Bangladeshi product range, diversifying them and trying to find strategic partners at this point of time.
He also urged the businessmen to import more products like pharmaceuticals, jute and jute goods, leather, RMG and fisheries from Bangladesh and emphasised more investment in infrastructure development of the country.
Thai BoI Deputy Secretary General and leader of the Thai Delegation Chokedee Kaewsang appreciated BTCCI to promote and develop trade, investment and industry between Bangladesh and Thailand Bangladesh and expressed his willingness to work for increasing investment in collaboration with Thai BoI and Bangladesh BoI.
He also thanked BTCCI for arranging the business meeting by which business matchmaking was held between the visiting Thai and Bangladeshi businessmen.
