BSTI certificates now available online

Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institute (BSTI) certificates will be available online from now on to save expenditures and time of industrial entrepreneurs.
This was made public at a function in the city to inaugurate automation of certificate marks (CM) to offer BSTI certificate in digital system.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu formally inaugurated the CM automation as chief guest at a function at Krishibid Institution Auditorium, said an official release.
The BSTI implemented CM automation with the cooperation of International Finance Corporation (IFC), a World Bank concern.
Presided over by BSTI Director General Iqramul Huq, the function was addressed by Senior Secretary of Industries Ministry M Mosharraf Hossain, World Bank economist M Masrur Reaz, Sinha Bangladesh Limited Managing Director Engineer A Matin and BSTI Director (CM) Rezaul Karim.
The function was told that interested entrepreneurs and consumers would be able to submit application online.
The application fees and marking fees could be deposited through e-payment. The applicants will get messages via emails and they will get passwords automatically on mobile phones.
Using the passwords, the applicants would be able to download and print BSTI certificates.
Speakers at the function appreciated the CM automation as an epoch-making step and said it will enhance international acceptance of BSTI standard certificates.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu said the aim of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was to project Bangalees as an industrial nation in the world.
 and the country has progressed much in this regard under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
In this connection, he referred to the country’s success in readymade garments, shipbuilding, pharmaceuticals, plastic goods and other sectors.
Referring to over 7 percent GDP growth in the last fiscal year, the minister hoped that Bangladesh will become a middle-income country by 2018.
