Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) asked the traders to inform about the unsafe water sellers.
The Director General of BSTI Sardar Abul Kalam told it to the real traders in a discussion at the institution’s office at Tejgaon in the city on Tuesday to ensure marketing of safe water. Businessmen concerned took part in the meeting.
“We have taken action against those traders who were involved in selling water without taking BSTI licenses. Now, we are seeking your hands to ensure providing safe water to the citizen,” the BSTI DG said.
The DG presided over the meeting while its Director (CM) Engineer SM Ishaque Ali, among others gave speech.
The business leaders from Association of Bangladesh Mineral and Purified Drinking Water, Pure Drinking Water Manufacturers Association and other companies’ representatives took part.
