BSPA to honour 18 gold medalist sportswomen

Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) will honour 18 gold medalists women athletes who brought reputation for the country though their performance in international sports arena after the Independence of Bangladesh.
Woman International Master in chess, Rani Hamid will be given Life Time Achievement honour for her pioneer role in country’s women sports in the function scheduled to be staged at National Sports Council (NSC) Tower on Saturday.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor is expected to be the chief guest at the programme under the banner of ‘Fair and Lovely Foundation Indefatigable Women in Sports’.
BSPA president Mustafa Mamun disclosed the details at a press conference at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
BSPA general secretary Rezwanuzzaman Rajib and Bangladesh Women’s Sports Association general secretary Kamrunnahar Dana also present in the conference withers.

Mahfuza Khatun Shila (Swimming), Mabia Akhter Simanta (Weightlifting), Sharmin Farjana Rumi and Shammi Akter (Taekwondo), Munni Khanom, Ja U Pru, Usainu Marma and Moreom Khatun (Karate), Eti Islam (Wushu), Sharmin Akter Ratna, Syeda Sadia Sultana, Tripti Datta, Sharmin Akter, Lovely Chowdhury Akhi, Sabrina Sultana and Kazi Shahana Parveen (Shooting), Rahima Khatun Juthi (1500mtr race) and Fouzia Huda Jui (Long jump).
