The inaugural ceremony of a short course entitled “Port and Shipping Studies” was held at Krishibid Institute in the capital on Wednesday. The Institute of Bay of Bengal and Bangladesh Studies of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Maritime University, Bangladesh, the only and first maritime specialized Public University of the country, organized the programme.
Dr. Golam Shafiuddin, ndc, Additional Secretary (Blue-Economy Cell) of Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. BSMRMU Treasurer, Registrar, Faculty Members, Resource Persons and Participants attended the inauguration as well.
The Chief Guest expressed his hope that, participants after completing this short course will develop and emerge themselves as maritime professionals and will contribute extensively in both shipping industry and port management development of the country. A Total of 50 government and non-government officials are participating in this short course.
