Staff Reporter :Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) hospital on Monday provided with free medical treatment to 6,500 patients infected with various diseases on the occasion of 41st National Mourning Day. “We have provided treatment to 6500 patients at free of cost,” said, physician Mukhlesuzzaman Hero, Deputy Director of BSMMU Hospital yesterday.BSMMU’s specialised physicians started providing treatment to the patients from 9:00am and continued till 2:00pm on the day. Patients suffering from various diseases like eye, dental, ear, nose, throat, fever, hepatitis and urinary came to the hospital and received treatment at free of cost. “We will provide such treatment to the poor every year on this day, Mukhlesuzzaman Hero said. “Usually we have to face difficulties in getting doctors’ serial. But on Monday we found a lot of doctors working. So, we had enough time to say our problems to the doctors in details,” said Sujon Sikdar, one of the patients suffering from hepatitis diseases.
