Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Prof Dr Quamrul Hasan Khan has appointed new chairmen to the university’s 43 departments for three years as per the existing rules.
BSMMU Registrar Prof Dr M Asadul Islam issued a notification in this regard on July 8. The appointments will be effective from today (July 10).
The new chairmen are: Prof Dr Sarwar Alam for Oncology, Prof Dr M Abul Hasnat for Endocrinology, Prof Dr M Abdur Rahim for Internal Medicine, Prof Dr Sajal Krishna Banarjee for Cardiology, Prof Dr Projesh Kumar Ray for Gastroenterology, Prof Dr M Abdul Hannan for Neuromedicine, Prof Dr M Shahidul Islam Selim for Nephrology, Prof Dr Nuruddin Ahmed for Hepatology, Prof Dr Parvin Fatema for Obs and Gynecology, Prof Dr Nokul Kumar Dutta for Orthopedic Surgery, Prof Dr M Sajid Hasan for Urology, Prof Dr Asit Baran Odhikari for Cardiac Surgery, Prof Dr M Zulfiqar Rahman Khan for Surgery, Prof Dr Kanak
Kanti Borua for Neuro Surgery and Prof Dr Qamrul Hasan Tarafdar for ENT.
