Bangladesh Super League (BSL) will be held in November this year. Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will arrange the franchise based football tournament.
To mark the forthcoming football meet, a press conference was held at the Ball Room of Hotel Westin on Tuesday. President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Kazi Salahuddin disclosed this matter at the press conference. Besides, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between BFF and Saif Powertech Limited at the same venue on the same day. Kazi Salahuddin and Managing Director of Saif Powertech Limited Tarafder Md Ruhul Amin signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.
Minister for Commerce Tofael Ahmed, State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, Deputy Minister for Youth and Sports Arif Khan Joy, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russel, Senior Vice-President of BFF Abdus Salam Murshedy, Vice-President of BFF Tabith Awal, Vice-President of BFF Badal Roy and Vice-President of BFF Shamsul Haque Chowdhury were present on the occasion.
Kazi Salahuddin said, ” A total of six or seven teams will take part in the first edition of BSL. Saif Powertech Limited will sponsor the BSL for upcoming 15 years. If BFF can arrange the football meet successfully, then BFF will earn at least Taka thirty five crore.”
It is noteworthy that India has been arranging the Indian Super League (ISL) for two years. The franchise based football meet is now very popular in that country. BSL will be held copying the ISL.
