Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Wednesday returned the body of a Bangladeshi cattle trader who was shot dead by them along Putkhali border here on Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Manirul Islam, 23.
Farid Uddin, subedar of 23 BGB Putkhali camp, said BSF jawans of Angrail camp fired several shots on a group of Bangladeshi cattle traders when they were returning home through Putkhali border on Tuesday, leaving Manirul dead on the spot.
Later, the Indian border guards dragged the body of Manirul to their land.
After several meetings between BGB and BSF officials, BSF handed over the body to BGB through Benapole check post at about 11:00 pm on Wednesday.
