BSF men shot dead in Shilachari clash

Two BSF personnel were killed and one was injured in a shootout at Shilachhari in south Tripura, India, across the Matiranga border in Khagrachhari. The incident took place on Thursday (September 23) night. This information has been given by reliable sources at the border.
Meanwhile, BGB Guimara Sector Commander Colonel GHM Selim Hasan said the BGB was on high alert at the Bangladesh border after BSF members shot dead each other due to an altercation.
According to border sources, a fight broke out between BSF’s 3rd Ad-Hawk Force Constable Pratap Singh and Habildar Satbir Singh on duty at a camp near the Bangladesh border in Shilachari, Tripura on Thursday night. At one point, Constable Pratap shot Satbir Singh with his own rifle. He died on the spot. He also shot SI Ram Kumar of the camp when he came forward to handle the agitated Pratap. Ram Kumar was shot in the leg and injured. He also died on the spot when another BSF fired at him. Seriously injured SI Ram Kumar has been admitted to Gomti District Hospital. The incident spread panic across the border area.
