Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BSCIC) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with
Karmasangsthan Bank for providing loans to unemployed youth and young women trained under the ‘Bangabandhu Youth Loan’ programme during the ‘Mujib Barsha’.
BSCIC Chairman Md Mushtaq Hasan and Managing Director of Karmasangsthan Bank Md Tajul Islam signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations at a function held at the Board Room of Karmasangsthan Bank on Wednesday, said a press release.
Former secretary and chairman Karmasangsthan Bank Board of Directors Kaniz Fatema attended the function as the chief guest while Additional Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division Zakia Sultana was present as the special guest.
According to the MoU, Karmasangsthan Bank will provide loan without mortgage from minimum of Taka 20,000 to maximum Taka 5 lakh. The loan will be given to young people trained in BSCIC as a startup (18-35 years old) at 9 percent simple interest.
